Abuja Housing Show re-named International Housing Show

Stakeholders at the just concluded 11th Abuja Housing Show have recommended that the annual expo should be renamed International Housing show / International Stakeholders Summit.

Most of the stakeholders acknowledged that the show has grown to international standard and should therefore not continue with the name Abuja Housing Show which makes it appear as a local or regional event.

Shedding more light on the recommendation of stakeholders for a change of name, MD/CEO of FESADEB Media Group which organises the show, Festus Adebayo said the suggestion could not have come at a better time than now, as the show, which is heading for the 12th edition next year, has in recent past been adjudged as the largest Housing and construction expo in the African continent.

Adebayo said the show has over the years serve as a one stop paradise for local and international investors, policy makers, legislators, foreign and indigenous experts in the built environment, local and foreign manufactures to trade ideas, products, technological innovations and services as well as brainstorm and proffer solutions to housing challenges.

“You can see from this year’s show that the magnitude of attendance and participation has completely measured up to international standard. Gone are the days when standard housing conference and Exhibition can only be found outside Nigeria, many stakeholders have always been  traveling  abroad to attend such housing and construction exhibition. We are happy that Our housing show has now adequately filled up that gab. We now have international companies, international financial institutions like the World Bank, foreign investors and other stakeholders at the international scene coming to attend the Nigeria Version. We can now attract investors and boost the Nigeria Economy through the international housing show.

In the UK and the US, you have construction summit. The Abuja Housing Show is now at per with this global summit. So i quite agree with the stakeholders that there is need to re-christen the name to International Housing  show / Stakeholders Summit. In this vein, the show will no longer be restricted to holding in Abuja. It can be rotated to hold in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kano, Calabar, Kaduna,  until it goes round all the nooks and cranny of the country.’’  Adebayo said.

He said with the monumental interest and attraction that the Housing show has attracted, stakeholders will be allowed to drive the annual event to intensify and sustained the international standard.

This year show which was concluded on Wednesday 19th July, 2017 was attended by many notable Nigerians in the public and private sectors including Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, The minister for Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, his Minister of State , Mustapha Shehuri, Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige, Minister of state for Solid Minerals, Chairman of NDDC, Sen. Ndoma Egba, Sen. Barnabas Gemade among others.
